Meet Quin
QUIN HAS BEEN HERE SINCE NOV. 16TH AND HASN’T DRAWN MUCH INTEREST. THAT IS UNFORTUNATE BECAUSE SHE IS GOING TO MAKE SOMEONE JUST A WONDERFUL DOG. SUCH A NICE SIZE AT 36 LBS. SHE WALKS NICELY ON A LEASH, KNOWS SEVERAL BASIC COMMANDS, HAVE REASON TO BELIEVE SHE HAS HAD SOME HOUSETRAINING, LOVES PEOPLE AND WHAT I LIKE BEST IS SHE LOVES TO GIVE HUGS. ?
IF YOU OBSERVE HER OUTSIDE HER KENNEL, SHE WILL BARK A LOT BUT LIKE MOST DOGS, SHE IS SIMPLY TRYING TO MAKE YOU NOTICE HER. I WOULD JUST LIKE TO SEE SOMEONE GET HER OUT AND SEE FOR THEMSELVES WHAT A GREAT DOG SHE IS. LIKE SO MANY OF OUR DOGS, SHE JUST NEEDS THAT ONE CHANCE. THAT IS PROBABLY ALL IT IS GOING TO TAKE FOR HER TO FIND A FOREVER HOME. PLEASE READ HER BIO AND VIEW HER VIDEO ON PETFINDER.
QUIN IS A SPAYED FEMALE PIT BULL MIX WEIGHING 36 LBS. AND CAME INTO THE SHELTER AS A STRAY. WE ARE ESTIMATING HER AGE TO BE AROUND 4 – 6 YEARS OLD. SHE IS FULL GROWN AND WON’T BE GETTING ANY LARGER. MUST BE MIXED WITH A SMALLER BREED.
QUIN WALKS SO NICELY ON JUST A SLIP LEASH. VERY LITTLE PULLING OR TUGGING. ALMOST ANYONE WOULD BE COMFORTABLE WALKING HER AND OF COURSE IT WOULD BE GREAT EXERCISE FOR HER. I ALSO BELIEVE SHE HAS BEEN HOUSETRAINED. SHE TOOK CARE OF HER BUSINESS SEVERAL TIMES WITHIN THE FIRST BLOCK OF OUR WALK. SHE WILL JUST NEED A SHORT TIME TO GET ADJUSTED TO A NEW HOME.
I SPENT SOME TIME IN OUR EXERCISE YARD WITH HER AND WOULD DESCRIBE HER ENERGY LEVEL AS MEDIUM. YOU CAN SEE FOR YOURSELF WHAT SHE IS LIKE OFF LEASH IF YOU VIEW HER VIDEO ON PETFINDER. QUIN HAS ALSO ALREADY BEEN TAUGHT TO DO A NICE SIT, SHAKE, STAY, AND WILL TAKE TREATS GENTLY FROM YOUR HAND. SHE HAS A SOFT JUMP WHEN SHE IS LOOKING FOR YOU TO GIVE HER SOME LOVING ATTENTION. I MIGHT ALSO ADD SHE HAS A GORGEOUS SHORT TAN COAT THAT WILL REQUIRE LITTLE IF ANY MAINTENANCE.
THERE HASN’T BEEN ANY ISSUES WITH QUIN AND THE OTHER DOGS AT THE SHELTER BUT IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A DOG(S) IN YOUR HOME, THERE WOULD BE A MEET & GREET HERE.
I THINK QUIN IS A FANTASTIC DOG AND BELIEVE YOU WOULD FEEL THE SAME WAY. SHE JUST NEEDS YOU TO GIVE HER A CHANCE TO SHOW IT. SHE WON’T DISAPPOINT. PLEASE FILL OUT AN APPLICATION, GET HER OUT, AND FIND OUT FOR YOURSELF. MAYBE YOU WILL HAVE FOUND THAT LIFETIME COMPANION YOU HAVE BEEN HOPING TO FIND.
Please fill out an adoption application at www.cedar-rapids.org/animal. Once the application is approved, you will be able to meet with the dog you want to see. To be approved, all animals in the home must be sterilized and current on a rabies vacation.
*The spay/neuter surgery is included in the adoption fee of $125. * We always prefer that our animals go to indoor homes.
*OWNING a pet is a lifetime commitment! Please be ready to make that commitment before you adopt a pet!
*BREED DISCLOSURE: Due to the fact that most of our adoptable pets are strays, we cannot guarantee their breed. We list the pets breed as the one that best matches the physical appearance, temperament, and personality of the animal-in some cases it's purely a guess. The pet may also be listed as a mix when it’s actually a purebred.
