Happy girl with such an infectious smile! Totally focused on her people and being near them, Purdy is a best friend in the making. She’s a 3-yr old, 33# Australian Cattle Dog mix ready to find her forever home.

Purdy’s foster mom describes her as loving, sweet and playful. She has a silly streak that keeps her people laughing. Sniffing her way around the yard and playing fetch are favorite pastimes. Any toy will get a good workout in Purdy’s paws. At the end of the day, she’s ready for a relaxing spa treatment in the form of belly rubs (her nickname is Purdy Girl!).

She’s adventurous and likes to keep herself fit through play, daily walks, and the occasional hike (car rides are fun!). She would be best in a home that enjoys a quieter social life. True to her breed characteristics, she prefers her family as primary companions and wants a minute to warm up to new friends. She has a nice off switch in the house, content with naps in a cozy sunbeam.

Purdy’s dream home has a fenced yard to play in. She has nice leash skills and is suited for life without a fence too, as long as she gets plenty of opportunities to safely stretch her legs. Herding breed experience is preferred. Families with preteen kids and above who love to play fetch or frisbee would be a great fit. She could have a canine sibling to play with but doesn’t need one with attentive humans. Best with dog-savvy kitties or a feline free home. She's living with kitties in her foster home.

A schedule is the key to ensuring Purdy settles into her new home. She’s happy to chill in her crate while her people are out and about or at night. She would love obedience classes to show off her smarts and spend even more time with her beloved humans

Purdy is being fostered in Rochester, MN.

As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Purdy's adoption fee is $450 + MN sales tax. She will be spayed Oct 23. She is microchipped, heartworm negative and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. All of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
