DOG'S DESCRIPTION: Hi there, my name is Basil and my sister Bessie and I are still waiting for our forever families. We have been living with our foster since we were 6 weeks old and I am not sure why we keep getting overlooked but am forever hopeful my forever family is out there. We are housebroken, great with kids and adults and are living with 10 other dogs in our foster home. If you are looking for a new fur baby and best friend, please submit an application for me today!
Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.
Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets.
Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.
