Pumpkin Australian Cattle Dog / Blue Heeler & Terrier Mix Minneapolis, MN

Silly. Snuggly. Bouncy… Pumpkin reminds us of Tigger from Winnie the Pooh. Perpetually optimistic – she loves this thing called life and everything (and everyONE) in it! Born in mid-July, currently 10#. She’s a mixy mix – maybe some terrier, Australian Cattle Dog? Whatever her DNA, she’s fun, fun, fun!

Pumpkin is super excited to play with the resident pup in her foster home, playing with all the toys and mirroring their behaviors. Soft blankets or toys she can bat around with her paws are high on her list of favorite things. After a healthy play session, she konks out like puppies do, recharging for more fun.

The ideal family for Pumpkin has a vibe like hers: upbeat, greeting each day as a new adventure. They are busy people and like to be on the move whether that is in the form of daily walks, taking obedience classes, going down the street for coffee, or hosting a puppy play date. She likes to be doing things. With her people.

Pumpkin is all puppy. That means she’s learning how to walk on leash, go potty outside, quietly relax in her crate and use those puppy teeth appropriately. She would love a fenced yard in her new home – we can just picture her sniffing each corner every morning to find out what transpired overnight. She chases hands and feet with her little shark teeth and needs consistent redirection to curb this habit. Best in a home with older kids.

Would love a canine playmate in her new home or could be an only pup with active, engaged people. Kitties are fun, especially if they play with her! Experience with active, smart dogs is a must. She needs potty breaks every few hours at this age.

As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Pumpkin's adoption fee is $550 + MN sales tax. She is microchipped, heartworm negative and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. She will be spayed by the rescue at the age of 6 months at one of the vet clinics we work with. The cost of this procedure is included in her adoption fee. All of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
