Pumba American Bulldog & English Coonhound Mix Souderton, PA

Meet Pumba! ? Pumba is a 4 month old male love bug. He’s 50% American Bulldog and 50% English Coonhound (2 pups in the litter have been DNA tested). He was born in PA December 3rd, after his pregnant mom was saved from an overcrowded shelter in Alabama.
His foster mom has this to say:
"Pumba is a very good listener- he is crate trained, sleeps through the night, walks well on a leash, and knows basic commands. He is working through some typical puppy behaviors such as counter surfing, dumpster diving, and still has the occasional oops-I-peed-in the- house moment. He loves his toys and bones, but he REALLY loves food! He currently weighs 45lbs, and fully grown we would expect him to be around 75-100lbs.

He originally came to us as a 6 week old puppy, and was adopted to a lovely family when he was 9 week old. He started exhibiting signs of food aggression and guarding and was returned to the rescue in mid March. We have been working diligently with him to correct his behaviors, and he has shown so much improvement. He is now at the point where we hold the bowl of food while he eats and pet him with his tail wagging to start each meal, and then he finishes his food in his crate. He has shown no food aggression towards humans in his foster home. He gets along beautifully with dogs who are larger than him, but he is a bit of a challenge with our 2 chi mixes. For this reason, Pumba is looking for a very special home. He would do best with one or two dogs over 50lbs who can tolerate his playfulness yet put him in his place. We would prefer no cats (or the type of cat that stays clear of the dogs, like ours). Due to his history of food guarding we would also recommend no small children, because we want to set Pumba up for success. He currently lives with a 7 year old and a 10 year old with no issues. Pumba’s kind eyes and floppy ears are sure to win your heart!"
