Meet Professor
Professor is a sweet and tenderhearted dog who is about 2 years old and weighs 14 pounds. He came to us after being left in a crate with the other Gilligan's Island pups outside a rescuers house. He was in bad shape when he came to us, he had a back wound which has healed and his ears were eaten up. He is all healed up now and is just perfect!
He has a white beard, so he looks older than his 2 years.
His soulful eyes tell the story of his journey. He does have a warm-up period when meeting new people. Once he knows you will be kind to him, he loves to get attention and affection.
Treats are the way to his heart. He takes them gently and is such a good boy.
Coming from the environment he was in previously, it is apparent that he wasn’t handled very much so he just needs time to trust and know that he is in a safe space.
He gets along well with the other dogs at the rescue. He would do best in a calm and patient home where he can acclimate to new surroundings and learn to trust.
He is a wonderful dog who just wants a family to call his own!
Professor is at our rescue near San Antonio and a meet and greet can be arranged with an approved application. He is neutered, up to date on all shots, microchipped and his adoption fee is $325.

Professor tested positive for Chagas disease and has started his treatment. This is completely curable after treatment and dogs can go on to live long and happy lives. Our rescue is one of the first to do Chagas testing for all of the dogs in our care and is having measurable success in the treatment protocol. We are also focused on continued education and awareness of Chagas to help even more dogs. For more information, please review here: https://www.tracyspawsrescue.org/chagas
Professor tested positive for heartworms and has already been treated.
