This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally.

Her name says it all! Every moment with Precious is a treasure.

Meet Precious - a 6 year old, Boxer mix, who weighs 55 pounds (as of 11/12/24). We found Precious as a stray and she was in rough shape. We included some 'before' pictures to show you how emaciated and sad she was. From the updated pictures, you can see that she has done a complete 180 and is now happy, healthy, and ready to find her forever family!

Her foster shares: "Her name fits this girl perfectly! She is the most precious fur baby you will ever meet. She's obviously had a rough start to life which has made her a bit shy with introductions, but she is incredibly sweet and laid back. She's very low maintenance and easy going. She rarely barks and does not jump up when meeting new people... and she's housebroken! She's incredibly well behaved and eager to please. She would do great in any home - with a single person, a couple or even small family that is calm and less active, because she prefers to have her ears scratched, get belly rubs and nap. She's pretty independent, so a little bit of affection and attention go a long way to making her a happy dog. She is a big old couch potato, and would snuggle on the couch with you (if she is allowed). She is just looking for some one (or some family) to love her unconditionally!"

It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application.
