Precious Rat Terrier Mix Bellingham, WA

Introducing Precious!!!

She is a 14 year old rat terrier mix, weighing 10 lbs.

She is quite thin so the doctor suggested she wear a fleece or sweater to keep her warm. She seems to like it.

She loves to be with her person and that person is whoever is available. She bonds quite quickly and is a sweet girl. She likes to sleep in the people bed and the closer the better. She appears to have arthritis and she is being treated for that and any pain related to that. She is extraordinarily well housebroken. She will do some business as soon as she is let outside and no matter how often. She has wonderful house manners. The former owners said she was noisy but the foster has not seen that so far. She will "speak" a little woof if you ask her and will let you know she is locked accidently behind a gate. This happens because she wants to be right with you wherever you go and sometimes she misses getting out of the gate or door before it closes.

She gets along with the small dog she is sharing space with although the resident dog will sometimes tell Precious that she is too close to the human. They are figuring it out.

Precious is a good eater and is scheduled for a dental next week, Nov. 6. After that she probably will lose teeth and will have to be on soft food for a while. The doctor says she is in pretty good shape for her age, just some age-related medical issues.

Precious is up to date on all vaccinations, is microchipped and is spayed. She will be ready to go to her new forever home soon. She will be a quiet, friendly and cuddly companion. She loves to explore the outdoors and her walks probably would not have to be very long.
