Meet Posie - IN VERMONT

In Vermont !

For all of you out there who want to love and cherish a true Doodle for many years to come, say hi to POSIE. A lot has happened since my last post, especially that my DNA says I am a beautiful mix of Golden, Lab, and Poodle. What could be better for this 6-month-old puppy than that just the right family is discovering that they are waiting for this perfect girl ?.

I am growing like a weed now, weighing in about 40#, and am becoming more confident and sweeter every day. I am so smart that I am learning great puppy manners including only chewing on toys and puppy bones. I am still a teething puppy so I need help from my humans on what is appropriate chewing material.

I come, sit, and love learning to walk on a leash with one of the resident dogs. I am learning what it means to live in a family with humans and other dogs. I need my humans to be home more often than not so they can keep up with my training and can attend to my puppy needs. My foster mom says I am such a good puppy, especially in the housebroken department. I know how to alert my human every time to let them know I need to go outside. Pretty cool, yes?

Did I tell you that I have a HUGE personality and like to play with the resident dogs but I really LOVE my humans? After a rough and tumble game of chasing balls and sticks outside in my fenced in yard, I am happy to come in and take a snooze on my doggie bed or snuggle with my human on the couch.

I think a fenced in yard would be best for me since I am still learning my safe boundaries. I am not a fan of the crate but because I am food motivated, I go in it willingly with a little coaxing to eat my meals. I sleep through the night and wake up ready and curious about what waits for me in a new day. I have enough puppy energy that I need to be walked at least once a day to enjoy the sites and smells along the way and would benefit from obedience training.

I would love doggie day care because it would socialize me and keep me playing with other dogs.

You know, I had a family when I was very young but as I got bigger, they decided that I needed more space and attention to play and exercise. I am happy to have landed in foster care in Vermont but am so ready for my own forever home. I will make a perfect addition to any family who can meet my needs and wants a smart, active, and cuddly girl to join in family fun.

Another secret if you haven’t noticed in my pictures is the heart on my fur shows how really big my heart on the inside is too, and I am willing to share both of them with my forever family. I think kids over age 8 would be best for me and I will adapt to any family who can give me their love and attention. Remember I LOVE, LOVE my humans!

Here is what I need in my new home:
• Adults who are home more often than not
• A physical or underground fence
• Adults committed to continue training
• A friendly active live-in dog friend if possible but not required
• No cats please
• Children over age 8
• Humans who will let me wander around beside them simply everywhere

If you can help me continue on my road to becoming my best self, please apply at www. goldenhuggs.org

GHR ONLY ADOPTS TO ADULTS OVER THE AGE OF 25 AND PUPPIES WHERE CHILDREN ARE OVER THE AGE OF 6 AND TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE TIME FOR THEM.

It doesn't matter where the pups are from; it only matters where they live the rest of their lives. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application at www.goldenhuggs.org, this is the first step in the process. The adoption fee $585 which includes all vetting including neuter and age appropriate shots and a microchip as well For more information or to complete an application please got to www.goldenhuggs.org
