Meet PomPom
PomPom, a handsome JRT/Shih Tzu mix who will be 11 years young in a couple of months, is a compact 14 lb. calm little guy.
His foster tells us he likes to sleep in bed with her and if she pushes him with her feet, he will growl and she just tells him to be quiet and move! He has a big bark for such a tiny boy, but usually only barks if another dog is hiding under a blanket and he believes it is an intruder. He is just a typical Jack that way.
PomPom would be a great fit for a single person or couple. We would not recommend him with children as while PomPom is a good boy and not aggressive, he loves toys and can grab fingers when trying to get them to his mouth.
PomPom is untested with cats in his foster home and with his experience in his foster home living with other dogs, we have learned that he will do best as the only dog in the home, with people who will love and dote on him.
He loves being outside and can be quite the fight to get him back in. An active boy, he does his zoomies around the yard and can move like the wind. He is losing weight and has mastered the stairs. He does like to eat in his bed as his safe spot and so indulge him. He was peeing as soon as he woke up but now he races down the stairs and out the door with the pack and is not going to be left behind.
He is such a good sweet boy and at bedtime he does get his chicken strip and will hide it in his bed and then come back and get as much as possible then he tries to stash everything while he eats one.
He will need a home where he is not left alone for long periods of time as he will quickly bond. If you are working, reading or watching TV, he will curl up on a bed by your feet. He will enjoy going for walks with his human and walks well on his leash.
This little charmer is well behaved, sweet and affectionate. He will be happy with a quiet life in a safe home where he gets plenty to eat. Will it be yours?
PomPom has been neutered, microchipped and is up-to-date on vaccines. He is being lovingly fostered in ANGUS, ONTARIO and his adoption fee is $300.
