Meet Pippin
Meet sweet Pippin we call our mini-Lab beagle mix! She came to us out of a South Alabama kill shelter just in time. Sadly, this little beauty of a pup weighing in at 34 lbs, close to one year old, fully grown, has obviously suffered in her past from abuse and isolation. Pippin may have experienced isolation and most definitely abuse showing a visible scar between her precious little eyes. Miraculously, all of what she suffered didn’t change her happy-go-lucky attitude! Pippin starts off just shy with strangers, but once she gets to know you and you mean no harm, her tail never seems to stop wagging! She prefers to have a human mom; snuggling, loving and just doing things. She is an incredibly loving little girl who is happy to go with you for any adventure! She will also gladly curl up by your side on the sofa for a cozy movie night or lay on top of your lap! She is incredibly smart and loves to learn! She especially can jump high so anyone interested in agility and working with a dog that "Can". This is your gal! She is already learning some cues and has picked them up quickly like; sit, down, come, and bed. She’s great on her leash already, too! She is responding so well to positive reinforcement, and with the right guidance, Pippin could learn to do almost anything her heart desires! We think Pip would do best in an active, dog-savvy home that may be interested in pursuing some doggy agility, search and rescue, and other exciting adventures with this little powerhouse. She loves to play and run and loves to be on the go! She will get really attached to her human, so a home as an only gal to a single lady she would LOVE. She would definitely love a home where there is someone there all the time. And be prepared for a great little Velcro dog that can definitely be the perfect little partner for emotional support! Pippin does great around adults. She is fine around other dogs but has shown fear around young children. Pippin will chase cats and not be the best fit for a home with kitties or other small pets. To adopt this little gal go to our website to complete our pre-adoption application https://www.southernskiesrescue.org/adoption-application Pippin is fully medically vetted, heartworm negative on prevention plus microchipped.
