Meet Piper

Piper is a 3 year-old, 55lb-ish American Bully/American Staffordshire looking for her furever home. Piper loves being inside and outdoors. When she is outside in the yard, she loves running around the yard with the other dogs that live in the foster home with her. She enjoys playing fetch in the backyard with tennis balls or any toys really, she will sometimes try to sneak her inside toys outside with her. When outside she does get really excited about anything new that she discovers, like the neighbor dog coming to say hello, neighbors going for walks, squirrels jumping from tree to tree, etc. Piper does have a prey drive on small animals, so a fenced in yard is an absolute must. After running she likes to find a shady place to lie and rest.

When she is not running around outside Piper loves to cuddle, you can find her at your side or at your feet while you watch a movie or as you read a book. She is curious and attentive inside and loves to keep her foster parent's company inside whether they are cooking in the kitchen, cleaning, working in the office etc. When winding down at the end of the night she is the first to jump into bed when invited.

Piper understands her basic commands such as sit, stay, and come (come is on her need to do so basis) and is kennel / crate trained but typically is left outside of her crate / kennel. Piper is also house trained. Piper enjoys meeting new people and making friends; However, she is still young and can be easily over stimulated so slow introductions are important. Piper enjoys being outside and walks well on a leash when her attention is had, however most times she is a strong leash puller who will need some training.

Piper currently lives in her foster home with two male dogs that love to wrestle with her. Piper has had few female dog interactions that have gone well, but as a bully breed, we recommend that she not be placed with another female pit bull. Interactions with cats are unknown. A house without young children is recommended as Piper is a high energy dog and knocks things over when excited, especially greeting people or seeing new things.
