Pip is ready to be adopted!! This handsome man is probably 2-4 years old. We believe he's a Frenchie mix. Possibly mixed with Boston Terrier and maybe a bigger breed. He's about 45lbs. Pip is a fun and playful guy, but he's also the king of naps! He has a very agreeable temperament and seems to "read the room" and take his cues from his humans about activity. With other dogs he doesn't take cues quite as well so he would do best as an only dog in the house. He's crate trained and housebroken, and walks well on a leash, though he doesn't need long walks. In February, Pip underwent complete airway surgery. Before surgery, he would turn blue with the slightest bit of exertion. After surgery, he's much healthier, but can still get winded easily and like all short nosed breeds will need extreme caution in the heat. Pip's other big medical hurdle is his ears. They were horribly infected and we worried that he'd need ear ablation surgery. While he was under anesthesia for his airway surgery, the vet took a culture from his ears and cleaned them thoroughly, and applied a long acting antibiotic treatment. All that, plus a round of oral antibiotics, has been enough to prevent him from needing further surgery, and preserve his hearing! He will however need continued ear cleaning multiple times a week for the rest of his life.
