Meet Pickle!
Pickle is a 13 month old male pitbull terrier mix. Pickle is fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered and ready to find a family to call his own! Pickle currently weighs 53 pounds.
Pickle came to us after being found as a lone, stray puppy in downtown Houston. His finder reached out to us after finding him all alone and asked if we could take him in and we gladly accepted him. He recently transported and is now in a foster home in Des Moines, WA.
Pickle is dog friendly and currently lives with another dog in his foster home. He's gotten along with every dog he's met and was always on his best behavior when attending events in Houston. Pickle is still pretty young and because of that, we would say that he has a moderate to high energy level. He LOVES going for walks, playing with toys and working on new tricks, but will also settle down wonderfully! He LOVES playing with other dogs and enjoys a good wrestle, tug-o-war and chase! He's great about taking cues from other dogs when they don't want to play. If he's going to have a dog friend in his future home, he would love a dog friend that also enjoys playing!
Pickle would prefer a home without cats.
Pickle is kid friendly! He currently lives in a foster home with children ages 7 and 11. In Houston he lived with children ages 1-9 years and was always very gentle with his human foster siblings.
Pickle walks great on a leash! His foster uses a harness and this works great for him! He gets excited when he sees squirrels, but He's a super smart boy and is learning "look at me" while on walks to help with this excitement.
Pickle is fully potty trained and crate trained.
Pickle's ideal home would be one that takes him out on adventures. He would make for a great hiking buddy and would love the opportunity to get out and explore. He is always on his best behavior when going out in public! He's been to soccer games, hardware stores, children's museums and dog friendly breweries and he's always such a good boy. He loves walks and hopes that his future family does too! He would love a backyard, so he can run and play. And while he loves having a doggie playmate, this is not a deal breaker if his future family doesn't have another dog.
Here's a small blurb about Pickle from his foster family:
Pickles is the sweetest, happiest, goofiest and fastest learning foster dog that we’ve had! He’s great with all the humans and dogs, and he’s such a good boy everywhere we go (stores, soccer games, etc.) He just wants to say hi to everyone and make new friends! He is always sure to greet you with a wagging tail and a wiggly butt! He's smart and has been great about learning new tricks that we teach him. He's motivated by all things- food, toys, affection. He loves to play fetch and cuddle on the couch when you sit down. He sleeps with you in bed through the night without making a peep. He has the best greeting and will make you so happy to come home. He already knows several cues (sit, down, touch, wait, off, look at me) and is learning more every day! He is an excellent car rider and lays down and goes to sleep! Pickle truly is the best boy and his future family will be so lucky to call him their forever baby!
