Meet Phoebe

Meet Phoebe!

Age: 5 years
Weight: 55 pounds

Phoebe is a delightful mix of mellow and energetic, making her the perfect companion for those who enjoy both relaxation and playtime. This sweet girl is incredibly attentive and eager to please, showcasing her intelligence by quickly picking up new commands. Although she can be a bit nervous in new environments and during car rides, Phoebe is making great strides and is learning to take cues from her confident human. With her quirky, goofy personality, Phoebe fills her foster home with joy—she loves to make silly noises and proudly presents her toys when she’s excited to see you!

Favorite Activities:
- Fetch: Phoebe is a pro at returning the ball and knows how to “drop it.” You’ll love watching her run around the yard squeaking her favorite toy—it's a sight to behold!
- Chewing: She enjoys gnawing on her bone and will happily spend time doing so.
- Relaxing: As she becomes more comfortable in her surroundings, Phoebe is learning to chill in her “place” and enjoy the moment.
- Outdoor Fun: From rolling in the grass to barking at squirrels, Phoebe loves to soak up the sun and explore her yard.
- Walks: She gets excited when it’s time for a walk and is making progress on her leash manners, especially when there are squirrels around!
- Affection: This sweet girl loves to be scratched and will lean in for more attention, wiggling with joy when you talk to her.

Phoebe adores people! While she can get a bit excited during introductions, she’s learning to match her human’s energy and will take cues well. She may bark at neighbors or passersby, but it’s all in good fun, and she’s improving her manners!

Phoebe is house trained and knows to signal when she needs to go outside. She’s also crate trained and sleeps soundly through the night, only waking up for potty breaks or the sound of commotion.Phoebe has a solid grasp of several commands, including "sit," "down," "stay," "come," and "drop it." She responds well to her name and is always eager to learn more!

Phoebe would thrive in a home where she can be the only pet, as she has some jealous tendencies. A routine and a structured environment are essential for her continued development. While a fenced yard would be a bonus, regular walks and outdoor time are just as important. An adopter who will gently challenge her and provide a safe, loving space will be rewarded with an incredibly loyal and loving companion.

Phoebe is known for her excited “screams” and full-body tail wags! She loves to bring you a toy or bone when she’s happy to see you, and enjoys being tucked in under a blanket for cozy morning naps.

As Phoebe has some skin conditions that require regular baths every 2-3 weeks, potential adopters should be prepared for this. She may not be suited for doggy daycare or boarding due to her sensitivity to chaotic environments, but with time and trust, she could adapt to car rides and staying with a trusted friend or family member.

Phoebe is spayed, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and heartworm negative. Phoebe is a unique, lovable dog who will blossom in the right home. If you're looking for a companion who will bring joy, laughter, and a little bit of quirkiness into your life, Phoebe is the one for you! ??
