Meet Phil.
Phil was adopted from us when he was just a young pup around 3 years ago. Unfortunately he started picking fights with the older dog in the home and ultimately has found himself back here at the shelter.
Phil is such a sharp looking guy and even these pictures do not do him justice. He is a Catahoula Leopard Dog mix and his markings are absolutely stunning.
We just can't get enough of Phil!
His mom had loved him very much but Phil can be protective of his things and put her older dog in danger. It was not an easy decision to bring him back but we think Phil deserves a home where he can be the only pet and doesn't feel the need to protect his belongings.
He has never been protective of his things with people, just other animals.
Phil loves people!!! He adores affection and attention. He is incredibly smart and loves to play and work his body and his mind. He is loyal, affectionate, and all around a really amazing dog.
The bad news, Phil doesn't do so great at the shelter. He has only been back with us for a short time and we can already tell that shelter life is weighing heavily on his mental state.
Phil is a people's dog. He needs to be around people and stimulate his mind and body. Living in a cage just isn't doing it for him.
He would really love an active family who want to play with him and cuddle.
Phil is around 4 years old. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm tested negative and kept on prevention here with us. He does have a poultry allergy so he can't have any chicken, duck or turkey in his diet.
If you are interested in meeting this amazing dog with the award winning smile begging you to rescue him, please apply asap! Don't make Phil wait another day.
