Farina is a Boxer mix who was surrendered to a county shelter very pregnant. Two days later she gave birth to 8 puppies on July 25th, 2023. They all came to us when the pups were only 6 days old. There were 7 boys and 1 girl all named after the "Little Rascals:” Spanky, Froggy, Butch, Porky, Waldo, Petey, Alfalfa, and the one girl, Darla.

Petey is the only one left from the litter. He has been on several hikes with volunteers and even overnight stays. Here is what he said about his mini vacation while the kennels were being painted:

I recently got to go on a sleepover and I got to do lots of fun things! I went for walks and car rides, I got to sleep on the big bed and cuddle, I got to make sure all the neighbors were behaving, I got to explore a vast jungle, sit outside in the sunshine, watch TV, and got lots of fun treats. The one thing I did not enjoy was the awful, horrible bath I had to take. I was a super good boy and didn't try to jump out of the tub or wiggle around, but I made pitiful faces the whole time. I did get some peanut butter (my favorite) after though so it wasn't sooo bad. Sleepovers are the best! I hope I get adopted soon and can have a forever sleepover.

One of our dog walkers says, "He’s young and goofy, but also a really good dog. He’s a dream in the car and would be the dog you could take to a doggy friendly restaurant. ? He was recently in a foster home for a bit and they said he was amazing."

We're open Wednesday - Sunday 12 - 5 p.m but are doing meet & greets and adoptions by appointment only.

The adoption fee is $135 which includes a free veterinary exam within 2 weeks of adoption at local participating vets, up to date vaccinations, heartworm test, heartworm preventative, dewormer, flea preventative, microchip, & spay or neuter.
