Peter, affectionately known as “Petey,” is an endearing young pup ready to find his forever home. He’s friendly and playful at home, where he feels most comfortable. He loves to snuggle for affection on the couch and has a charmingly awkward demeanor. You can’t help but laugh at his antics! Born in early May 2024, currently 26#. Momma looks to be a herding mix and Daddy is a mystery - any guesses?

Eager to learn about the world around him, Petey’s confidence grows each day. He is shy when meeting new people. Best with positive, unpressured exposure to new things. He is a homebody at heart and will thrive in a quieter household. He would adore the company of older, calm kids who understand he wants to build trust before revealing his whole heart.

Like any teenaged boy, Petey is a big fan of treats and food in general. He will happily entertain himself with any chew or toy as well. He requests moderate exercise, making him a perfect fit for a family that balances daily walks with cozy evenings at home. He would enjoy another dog in the home for camaraderie, and will also be ok as an only dog.

The perfect family for Petey will provide opportunities for gentle, intentional socialization and positive training techniques. He is crate-trained and does well on a leash with encouragement – as he gains faith in himself, he will enjoy outings even more. While he hasn’t been exposed to cats, we believe he would be polite and respectful to kitties in the home. Physically fenced yards are preferred to allow him a safe space to play.

As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Peter's adoption fee is $450+ MN sales tax. He will be neutered and microchipped as soon as possible. He is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines.

All of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
