Meet Pepper
Meet Miss Pepper! She is the peppiest of pups, especially when it comes to training! Her enthusiasm and growth over the past few months has been one of her foster Momma's greatest joys.
PepPep came to Lost and Found Pets of Grant County with her very own puppy (we named him Gumby). Before Gumby was adopted, Pepper demonstrated excellent mothering instincts -- through play and fair corrections, she showed her pup proper manners and just the right amount of love to get him off to an excellent start. After he was adopted, Pepper was introduced to her foster siblings who helped show her the ropes of household living -- that all the sounds of a house aren't actually that scary, that there are some REALLY comfortable beds inside, that her space is respected, and that the humans give the best treats.
Pepper spends her days primarily lounging about the house and chewing on her nilabone or dissecting toys (she has an incredible off-switch for a GSD!). She is excited to go on a walk, run, or car ride and has learned that leashes mean fun things are happening. Her household manners are coming along quite nicely; she is potty trained, doesn't jump, and will leave human food alone. She has even joined a group class in rally and obedience where she continues to impress the class trainer and her foster mom every day as she pays the other class participants no mind, showing only eyes for her handler and a treat!
With slow and proper introductions, and the promise of a safe space to retreat to, Pepper has proven herself with other dogs small and large, and with humans alike (kids too!). She plays with her foster siblings daily and has even been used as an assistant to her foster mom's dog training clients! She has not been directly tested around cats, but has shown those she's passed on her walks that if they don't run, she won't chase.
Pepper is an absolutely amazing pet dog and will patiently wait for the right family to come along.
Please, only apply if you can give Pepper a fur-ever home.
If you are interested in adopting Pepper, you must fill out an application first. You can go to www.LAFPOGCW.org to complete one, or message us here and we will email you a copy.
You must fill out and submit an application to even be considered for a meet and greet. We do require references. Thank you!
