Pepper Corgi & Border Collie Mix Chesterfield, MO

Hi, My name is Pepper.  I am a really pretty merlie girlie.....that's what my foster Mom says. I am getting close to celebrating my first birthday! I am 48% Corgi and 33% Border Collie, and 100% ready to play!  I love walking in the park, playing ball in the backyard, running after the other dogs in my foster family, going anywhere in the car, and especially anything where treats are included. My favorite games are tug, ball, and sneaking out the door when I'm not supposed to - I'm just trying to get that next car ride!

Hi. Foster Mom here... Pepper is a really sweet girl. She is a normal inquisitive puppy, getting into just about everything she shouldn't, but she hasn't been naughty. She is a really quick learner - I taught her to shake (each paw) and sit pretty in about 3 short 5-minute sessions. She's really sharp. She gets along well with my Corgis, but she would really like a dog more her size to play with.  She hasn't met any cats that I know of, but she has met and doesn't bother with our pet bird.  She will definitely benefit from an obedience class where she can socialize in a learning environment. Like any puppy, she does need to be watched, as she has occasionally tried to eat things that she shouldn't. When she is caught doing something she shouldn't, a couple of "No's" and she's pretty much moving on. She is happiest when someone is playing with her, and she is always on the alert and ready to go.  She is good with staying in the crate when I have to go to work. Pepper MUST HAVE A GOOD FENCE, as she's known to jump if she thinks her people are going somewhere without her.  Thankfully, she has a pretty good recall and wants to be with her people.  If you're interested in Pepper, please email claireelizabeth@petssecondchance.org. Note that a securely fenced yard is required. Prior herding dog experience is a plus. We do not place in homes with small children. We place only in the Greater St. Louis Area. If you are considering performance sports like agility or herding Pepper would be your girl!
