Meet Pepito
I have the most beautiful coat with grey, white and a hint of coffee brown shades, and captivating blue eyes. I have no clue how I ended up in an overcrowded kill shelter in California, stuck in a doggie jail for nearly 3 months.
Well, my past is now behind me. A team of lovely humans worked together to save me from there and brought me to the Pacific Northwest and had been taking great care of me since then.
I love going for walks and running at off leash dog parks, exploring in the nature, checking out the bunnies & squirrels. I’m also good hanging out next to my human during the day.
I love doggie friends I meet on walks and dog parks. I’m eager to make new friends. But I can get too excited and jumpy, sometimes a bit skittish; it’s best I hang out with only friendly dogs. I can go to a home with another friendly dog, or I can be your one and only best friend to go explore the outdoors the Pacific Northwest style. Are you that special one?
Please contact my rescue PawesomeBaby if you like to meet me! I’m available for meetups in the Pacific Northwest!”
Here is what Pepito’s foster parents got to say about him -
“He is the first dog we have cared for, and he has been an absolute joy—perfectly manageable even for first-time dog owners! He’s incredibly affectionate, loves belly rubs after any activity, and enjoys spending time relaxing on his own as much as he loves being with his people.”

Please contact to schedule a meetup!
The adoption fee is USD 400 ( or CAD 500 for Canada adoptions).
The money we typically spend on rescuing and caring for our precious dogs far exceeds the adoption fees. We charge a fee to make sure our dogs go to a family who can take care of their lifelong needs. Also, you will be adopting a dog who got the medical care listed below -
• Spay/neuter
• Rabies, DHPP, Lepto, Bordetella vaccines
• Negative fecal test or dewormed
• Heartworm test, Snap 4 DX, CBC blood tests

Training:
—————————————————————————-
Pepito is an eager and quick learner, especially when he gets one-on-one time with his human!
What He Knows So Far:
—————————————
With consistent training, Pepito has already mastered several commands, including:
* Sit
* Stay
* Come
* Handshake
* Walk-with-me
Current Training Focus:
—————————————
While Pepito has made great progress, there are a few areas he’s still working on:
• Leash Pulling: Pepito can get excited and pull on the leash when he spots squirrels or bunnies. His foster parents, who are first-time dog owners, worked with a wonderful local trainer Canine Connections Coaching (https://canineconnectionscoaching.ca).
• Counter Surfing: Pepito’s curiosity sometimes leads him to counter surf. His foster parents have been teaching him to wait when cooking, and he’s already doing great after living with them for over a month.
Additional Training Resources:
——————————————————
Regardless of who you adopt, we recommend training your pup regularly, to build an everlasting bond with your pup and help them continue to be an amazing canine citizen. Pepito’s trainer has created fantastic YouTube videos covering a range of training topics, which we will share with you.
If you’re in the Seattle area, we can also provide a list of reputable trainers who use science-based, positive reinforcement methods to help you establish a training protocol with your newly adopted furbaby.

[IMPORTANT]
—————————————————————————-
Below listed requirements are for any dogs we adopt out, meant for everyone’s safety.
• If you have other dogs, then you must also be knowledgeable and have good hands on experience with running a multi-dog home to be able to adopt a dog from us. What’s expected of the adopter is just keeping basic house rules like (1) keep the dogs apart when feeding, monitor & put away left over food, (2) help them build mutual trust before leaving alone with treats, toys around (3) keep dogs out of kitchen when handling food etc
• As with any dog, earn their trust around food handling. This is an essential training for every dog, so they learn to trust their new human. It takes only a couple of practice sessions around meal time with most dogs with no history of food guarding. Teaching to sit, then hand-feeding food & high value treats is one of the best ways to earn trust.
• If you have children at home, they should be at least 8+ yrs, and know to safely & respectfully interact with dogs, to be considered for adoption. We think families with younger children will likely not have the time needed to exercise and nourish a new dog. And the time needed to train little kids to safely interact with dogs, read their body language & respect their personal space. Most dogs do not enjoy little ones clinging to them, pulling their fur, crawling or lying on them. We do not want to risk the safety of neither your child nor our dog. Follow @dogmeets_baby trainer on Instagram to learn more on this topic :-)
• We discourage the use of choke, pinch, prong collars on our dogs. We do not believe this is the humane way to train dogs for obedience, when there are science based, positive reinforcement training methods available today. Besides, huskies are genetically prone to glaucoma of the eyes, and the pressure on the neck will only hurt them more. Training to walk on a well fitted no-pull harness is encouraged. All our dogs come with a “no-pull” harness. You can also use humane collars like martingale collars.
