Meet Penny Popper
Hi, my name is Penny Popper but you may call me Penny. I’m a brown and white, 7-year-old, 26-pound beautiful beagle girl.
I came from a breeder, so my foster parents do not know a lot of my background. I’m very timid. But I do like being around people. I am just starting to recognize my name and will slowly come when called. I will jump on the couch, but not in the recliners where foster mom and dad sit. If they lift me up, I will happily sit with them. I love their petting and will often fall asleep on their lap.
I’m a good girl in the car. I’m tethered in the backseat where I will sleep most of the ride. I love to chase the tennis ball. And I will bring it back to you. I’m still learning how to play with the toys in the toybox. But the resident dog is showing me the ropes. I’m very open to change. I have learned how to sit. And I am 95% house trained. (Accidents will happen, right?) Breakfast and dinner can be tricky, I’m a picky eater. Foster mom says that is unusual for a beagle. But I know what I like and what I don’t like.
I sleep in the dog bed in the bedroom with my foster parents. I’m just not comfortable in the big bed with them. When I’m home alone, I don’t need to be crated. I’m a good girl. I like to go for walks. But be prepared, it be a slow walk. I like to sniff EVERYTHING!
I love snuggling with the resident dog. I will let you know if there is anything or anyone outside. I love to communicate (bark) with other dogs through the fence.
So, if you can show me patience and love, I will be your BFF and I’m the girl for you.
NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).
