Sweetest girl looking for a lifelong love!



Breed: Mixalicious! We aren't quite sure what breed(s) she might be...but we can definitely say that she is a beautiful girl!



Measurements: Medium sized girl, she came into our care very, very thin. We are working to get her to a healthy weight with extra meals through the day. We do tend to dress her in sweaters and coats to keep her warm and cozy.



Personality profile: Penny is a very, VERY sweet and affectionate girl who loves making new friends. She greets everyone with a wiggly bottom and as many kisses as she can land.



Penny came in as a stray from West Des Moines and was never claimed. We don't quite understand why, she would be a great addition to any family.



Ideal match: A hooman or family that will adore her as much as she will adore you.



She did spend some time in a foster home where we learned she is housetrained. (Such a lady!) She loves taking walks and feels it is necessary to take sniff breaks while getting some fresh air. (Maybe she owned a perfume company in her last life?) She is very treat and toy motivated and was working on commands such as "sit" and "down". Beauty AND brains!



We learned when she was in foster she does not like to share her toys with other dogs and is sensitive when it comes to her food bowl. She would need to be supervised around toys & her food around other dogs. She did tell us she does not remember ever meeting a cat, but we would be happy to "cat test" upon request to guage her reaction if you do have a feline family member and have met Penny and want to adopt her.



Penny is a bit of an escape artist, we have notated for our volunteers and staff to stay with her when she is outside in one of our play yards to ensure she does not go on an unsupervised adventure. This would be something her forever family or person should be aware of.



She does like kiddos and would LOVE to meet family members residing in the home before becoming a part of your family to make sure it's a good fit.
