Penny bonded to Ellie Mae Terrier Mix De Soto, IA

Hi, I'm Penny, an 8-year-old Scruffy terrier mix from Oklahoma. I'm a single mom, who had to work hard to raise my daughter Ellie Mae. We lived with many other dogs, who like ourselves did not have access to adequate shelter, clean H2O or enough food. Don't worry though, I'm resilient and those tough times didn't define me. Now I enjoy the finer things in life, like baths, car rides, toys, Starbucks and Netflix. I'm completely house broken, and fully leashed and kennel trained. I can even open the patio screen door with my paw to let my little brother in the house. Who says you can't teach an "ole" dog new tricks?! Don't let my age deter you and know that I don't ask for much. We can get nervous when we feel anxious and scared, so a home without children would be best. We would love proper introductions to other resident dogs, to make sure that we mix well! We are looking for a quiet place together to rest our heads and someone to love us for who we are. Because we are shy and fearful, a fence is required to keep us safe.
