Fence needed? No, but she would love one

What kind of home would be best for me? Penelope will thrive in an environment where she's surrounded by affection and companionship. Her idea adopter would be someone who is home most of the day, as she treasures being held and cuddled like a baby. She doesn't think that's asking too much after working as a breeder dog. Penelope gets along well with small dogs and interacted well when she met our cat. As a young puppy, she requires another dog in the home for play and socialization. Penelope will not be placed in a home with large dogs. She does not like big dogs. This little girl will fit seamlessly into your home whether you live in apartment or house. A note for apartment dwellers, Poms can be barks so take that into consideration. That being said, Penelope will enliven her adopters' life whether you are single, a couple, or a family. While Penelope adores people of all ages, for her safety, she will not be adopted to a family with children aged 10 and under for her own safety.

Puppies are always in need of a canine friend, they love to run and play with one another. Puppies are active, agile little babies, they need homes that are ready to tire them out both mentally and physically, so a fenced in yard will be required. Puppies are generally very well rounded dogs, they do not meet strangers and would do well with a nice big family or a single owner! What matters most to a puppy is a happy and excited owner ready to take on loving and training their new puppy! When raised around cats, with proper boundaries, puppies do very well. If you expect your puppy to get alone with your feline buddy, it's important to start socializing the puppy with the cat as soon as you can!

What is my personality like? Penelope is a foxy little lady who will steal your heart away with just one look. Seriously, there are times when you look at her and you'd swear she was a fox. But Penelope is actually a gorgeous Pomeranian that is now ready to embrace the role of your cherished baby girl.

Penelope is a vivacious, spunky, and bright girl. She will need to learn to walk on as leash as she isn't enamored with being leashed. Pomeranians are strong willed, and Penelope is no exception. She needs an adopter who is firm but loving. Penelope needs to be taught basic commands such as down, sit, stay, come, and the like. Leash and command training will not only strengthen your bond but also enrich her life with structure and purpose.

PUPPY POLICY:

Thank you for carefully considering the addition of a puppy to your family. Puppies can be a joyous experience, but they can also be a tremendous amount of work. Since our goal is to place each of our dogs in forever homes, we are especially cautious with puppies. We like to stress 3 major things when considering a puppy vs. an adult dog: 1) many adult dogs are well-bred, well-trained dogs who find themselves in rescue through no fault of their own, 2) adult dogs are eager to share their love and bond with their new family, and 3) puppies will always require far more time, energy, and training than an adult dog.

Our ideal puppy adopters are:
-experienced dog owners with a solid record of excellent vet care of their previous pets
-scheduled away from home for no more than 4 hours per day and have another canine companion already in the home
-stay at home type of people (work at home, home schoolers, retired, etc)

This foxy little lady is dreaming of her den in a forever home. Penelope's vivacious spirit and spunky demeanor will make her a delightful addition to any loving home.

How do I act when I first meet new people? Penelope love people ad eagerly welcomes new faces, ready to shower them with her endless love because she craves the love and attention of humans.

Other tips and tidbits: Based on her overall health and condition, Penelope has been estimated at 4 months old by our veterinary partner. We celebrate her birthday 1/19/2024.

House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
