Meet Peaches

Peaches wandered into an apartment complex in Bushwick, Brooklyn, wearing a chewed up leash and collar. She was skin and bones and her mammary glands were swollen like a mama dog that had recently nursed a litter. Worse still, because she wasn't spayed, she developed Pyometra (infection of her uterus) and had to be rushed into emergency surgery.

Although Peaches has been through the wringer, she remains trusting and affectionate with everyone she meets. She'll roll over for belly rubs and rest her head on your lap every chance she gets! She's very mellow and well-behaved at home, and is house trained and good in her crate.

Peaches is working with a trainer to address her leash reactivity towards other dogs. She would do best in a quiet home outside the city, with adopters who are willing to continue working on her leash manners.
