Meet Patches

Patches is a white pup with black Patches over eyes and dots on ears. Her ears are very expressive, often folding over and pointing forward. She was born July 18, 2024.

Patches and her 8 siblings were removed from a home due to neglect, came to HART from a shelter in Kentucky to help them find their forever homes. The father was a pure Austrian Shepard Blue Heeler that weighs 45 lbs. The mother is said to be a Lab mix that weighs 50 Lbs. Patches weighed 16 pounds at 16 weeks old. She is in excellent health.

Patches is a bit shy at first but quickly acuminates. She is a fun loving pup. She likes children, adults, and other dogs. She enjoys playing tug of war and keep away as well as wrestling with her siblings and other dogs. She has been around to 5 adult larger dogs during play dates. She has been around 5 younger children (4-11 years old) and takes harsh handling well.

She warms up to other dogs fast and likes to play with them. Patches likes to have her belly rubbed. She is a very affectionate pup who loves to be held and lay on you lap while you watch TV, and she does give kisses. She rides well in the car. Has started walking on a lead, but needs additional training.

Patches is crate trained, and working on house training. The cool weather didn’t deter her from going outside. Patches is a pretty laid back pup, her activity level is about average or a bit lower, plays for an hour or 2 and then rest/sleeps and hour or so as most puppies. She sleeps through the night in her crate (9:30 to 6:30) without protest, if she hears stirring near 6 he’ll start making noise to go out. She enjoys chew toys, tug-of-war, chewing on sticks, and playing with other dogs.

She is highly food motivated, so training should be easy. Patches would do best with a fenced yard, as she loves to wonder around stiffing and playing in the flower beds or anything she can find. If you think Patches could be a good fit, submit an application and the foster will bring him to your house for a visit.

All HART dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on all vaccines, including bordatella and rabies. They are heartworm tested and on preventative for heartworm, fleas, and ticks. If you are interested in any of our pets, you must complete an online dog adoption application at www.rescueAhart.org . The application will put you in touch with this wonderful dog's foster family so you can schedule a meeting. Thanks!
