Pancake Akbash Mix Steamboat Springs, CO

Hello, I'm Pancake! I was found as a stray and was most likely a livestock guardian dog (though obviously not a good one as I wandered away from my flock). Much like a Pancake, I flatten myself when things get too heated, like too much movement, or noise, or I have to go inside. I am slowly learning how to interact with the human world, though my progress is slow, I am making leaps and bounds from my first days in the shelter. I am still afraid to walk on leash, go inside or through doorways, or have 'regular' pets and play sessions with people. I am dog-friendly but prefer dogs who are calmer yet still playful that can help me adjust to normal dog life, as well as about my size or smaller. I am looking for a home (not apartment or anywhere upstairs) that is calm, quiet, and can meet my personal socialization needs, as well as the needs of my breed, which include plenty of exercise and mental stimulation, and positive, slow exposure to my new world. Ideally my home would have a yard as I am not accustom to walking anywhere on leash (even for potty breaks). I'd like to let you know, I will likely need multiple meet and greets before I am comfortable to go home with anyone.
