***UPDATE ON PAISLEY: Paisley was just recently adopted and taken into her new home. She had behaved fantastically with the new owner during her 1st visit here at the shelter (about 2.5 hours), at the house check approx. 1 week later, and at the new owner's return to pick her up. Paisley was so excited and happy. HOWEVER - once Paisley got into her new home, that same evening she bit 3 different people. She did it very quickly, as though being possessive of her new surroundings, and then walked along just as calm as could be, as though it had never happened. Paisley was returned the next day (new owner was heartbroken as she had fallen in love with Paisley immediately, but was in a situation where she had to introduce new people to Paisley right away due to the owner's work schedule). Unfortunately she is back in the kennels. PLEASE NOTE, WE HAVE HAD PAISLEY FOR OVER 2 YEARS AND HAVE NOT HAD ANY INCIDENTS LIKE THIS WITH HER, EVEN WITH UP TO 25-30 DIFFERENT VOLUNTEERS. I don't know if it's a nervous kind of passive/aggressive move, or what. We had thoroughly told the new owner the history that Paisley was reported to have before she came to us, and had encouraged her to not overwhelm Paisley once she came into the new environment. Somewhere along the line of Paisley meeting the new people, she showed this bad behavior. We still think she is a wonderful dog and worthy of getting a home, but it would take a skilled and experienced person to help Paisley and help her get accustomed to her new life while taking control of this bad dominant or maybe passive-aggressive behavior. Paisley might just end up being a one-owner dog. WE ARE SO VERY SORRY THAT THIS HAPPENED. WE WILL GIVE HER ONE MORE CHANCE AND LIST HER AS ADOPTABLE. MAYBE THE RIGHT OWNER IS OUT THERE WHO CAN BRING HER INTO THE SECURITY AND OBEDIENCE SHE NEEDS.

(From here below is the previous bio. All of her good attributes listed here are still true, and are the only thing we observed from her for over 2 years.)

Meet the darling PAISLEY!! This girl is a HUGE sweetheart and DESERVES a home immediately! She is beautiful, energetic, healthy, loyal, devoted, everything you could ever ask for, everything you could ever hope to be yourself. She does NOT want to remain in the kennels forever, she is REALLY looking for a home to call her own! She is too oriented to people to be left in the kennels! Sweet Paisley lost her home after an unfortunate incident: after falling asleep on the sofa next to the 3 young girls in the family whom she adored, played with, and doted upon, she was startled out of her sleep by a strange fiancee who had suddenly sat down right next to them on the sofa. She instinctively snapped at the man, most likely in surprise and automatic protectiveness. However, the family was divided in opinion and did not choose to keep poor Paisley. She has been nothing but a big playful angel since she has come into our care. SHE DESERVES A HOME! She is fantastic!! PLEASE let's get Paisley into the forever family that she needs! We are praying for the right one to come along as soon as possible!
