Otto is an 11 year old neutered male GSP who is all up to date on vaccinations. We did a senior bloodwork panel on him and it was perfect, so he is a very healthy boy.

The foster home reports that he might be 11 but he is full of energy. He lives with a 2 year old intact male and while they get along, the energy level of a young male GSP can be a little much for Otto and really a little much for everyone else as well. He knows, sit, stay, heel, come/here, easy(aka no pull), cookie, and paw. He is very comfortable in a kennel and is housetrained. He lets you know when he wants to go out.

He has been ecollar trained and is trained to an efence system. If leash walking is what you do, he is good with that as well. He is a very affectionate boy who loves his snuggles, massage, scratches, and just simple time with you. He reaches out and grabs you with his paw when he wants more. Otto’s dream home would be a place where he could be the only boy or have a dog closer to his age range that isn’t as boisterous as his current roommate. He would like human brothers and sisters, but remember that he is a little older and the energy levels of younger children may not be a good fit so perhaps older children would be best. He is quite prey sharp so, a home with a cat might not work although his last home did have a cat, and while they were very aware of each other, no problems were reported.

Opening your home and life to a Senior dog like Otto is so rewarding. All the hard training work is done. The velociraptor raptor stage is over. All you have to do is love him and learn to communicate with each other. He will be so thankful and love and joy will be returned.
