Orion is a 1 year old, 58 pound Yellow Lab and Shepherd mix. If he thinks he's going to get a tummy rub, he'll lift that back leg a little and start the rollover. Orion is super sweet! He was adopted by a family that lived in apartment, and it didn't work out. Orion needs a home with a yard he can go out to. The family told us that Orion is HOUSEBROKEN and good on a leash.

Orion’s favorite things? Cuddling up close, giving big, warm-hearted hugs, and melting into a blissful puddle whenever his belly gets some rubs. He’s an absolute connoisseur of affection—whether it’s gentle pets or full-on snuggle sessions, Orion is all in. He’s also fantastic with other dogs, but he kindly asks for a cat-free galaxy.

Orion gets along great with kids and would be thrilled to have some little space explorers to call his own. He’s searching for a loving family who will cherish his affectionate spirit and let him orbit their lives as the loyal, loving companion he was born to be. Adoption hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 12-5pm.

Adoption fees are $60, $30 or free. If the pet has been at the shelter more than 30 days, they are free. Check the INTAKE DATE on the adoption card to determine this. If the pet is 4 years of age or older OR if you adopt more than one pet, the fee is $30 for each pet. All others are $60. OKC Animal Welfare is open for adoptions from 12-5:00 Tuesday through Saturday. The shelter is at 2811 S.E. 29th St., phone # 405-297-3100.
The dog/cat adoption fee includes spay or neuter, MICROCHIP, age-appropriate shots and health check. Use pet's ID # when inquiring.
