OPAL! Unique Beauty! Whippet & Plott Hound Mix New York, NY

This beauty is OPAL! She is 8 months old and under 30 lbs.

We named her Opal because of her mesmerizing eyes that remind us of Australian opal, which changes color depending on the light, and has so much depth. She also learned that she could make a statement by applying eyeliner over just one eye!

Opal was one of the babies of our beloved Agate who was adopted. She has the same temperament of her mom - she just wants to be loved. She walks well on a leash and sometimes needs a little encouragement if the world gets too scary.

Opal is also very smart! She is not technically “house” trained because she’s living at our sanctuary but she clearly wants to be taken out of her kennel to do her business and doesn’t do it inside her kennel. She will pick up house training quickly.

Opal is such a sweet dog! She loves scratches and head rubs and is very gentle. Please inquire for a video.

She is good with children/young children. She is also great with other dogs and hangs out with dogs of all sizes and ages all day.
