Meet Omega Mu
With a guesstimated birthday of March 16, 2023, Omega weighed about 18 lb at her spay surgery in Oct. 2023. Her adult weight at her last vet visit in Aug. 2024 is 20 lb.
Omega is leash savvy and comfy in a 36" crate. She likes to snuggle on her blanket, then wad it up in the corner to sleep on. She also loves to give kisses :)
Omega is house-trained when kept on a regular schedule (every 2 hours). She can keep her crate clean overnight, but needs a potty break before bedtime and immediately when her foster mom gets up.
Omega is learning to load up in a car, but is still a little nervous on rides. Her foster mom tethers her in to make sure she doesn't dart out when the door is opened.
Omega is fearful in new situations and meeting new people / dogs. She is being taken out for rides and explores to help her learn that new things / places are curious rather than scary. She still tucks her tail, but is gaining confidence with every outing. She would do best in a home in a quiet neighborhood.
**************************************************
Whether dogs / puppies come in as strays or owner surrenders, we make our best guess as to birthdate and breed.
If adopted into a home with other animals, particularly cats, your new pet should be crated or secured when you're not available to supervise to insure a harmonious relationship.
For adult dogs, our adoption fee covers a standard canine vaccine, a rabies vaccine, heartworm (HW) test, HW prevention, and deworming if recommended by our vet.
Puppies will have two vaccinations, deworming, and heartworm prevention if age-appropriate. An additional fee for the 3rd puppy vaccination and rabies vaccination, if administered, will be added to the adoption fee.
If you are adopting an intact dog, a refundable spay/neuter deposit is required, and a vet reference may be required.
Foster dogs are shown on a rotating schedule at our Saturday Adoption Events which occur several times a month at Waggin Tail Resale store located at 220 Joyceton Church Rd, Lenoir. Additionally, Meet & Greets can be scheduled with a specific dog on Saturdays (11am-3pm) in our Adoption Center at Waggin' Tail Resale. Additional times for Meet & Greets may be scheduled depending on the schedules of Adoption Counselors and Foster Parents.
Shelter Dogs can be seen at the Bunch Anderson Shelter on Saturdays from 12pm-3:30pm, or by appointment. To request an appointment, e-mail: info@foothillscaninerescue.org. We will respond within 24-48 hours M-F. (BAS is also located at 220 Joyceton Church Rd)
