Ollie Pollie German Shepherd Dog Louisville, KY

Ollie Pollie is a big, handsome male German Shepherd estimated around 1 year of age. Ollie Pollie was a stray therefore we do not know his history or background prior to arrival at the shelter.

Despite bouncing around the shelter and into rescue Ollie Pollie is a happy-go-lucky dude with a great personality. He has kept his kind and even temperament through all the transitions and remains a sweet, social boy. Ollie definitely requires some guidance on his manners as he is a big baby at heart and doesn't always realize his size. Ollie is a big fan of eye contact, butt scratches, and detouring through mud puddles on hikes. Ollie has had limited introductions with kids while with us but he absolutely adored the one pre-teen he met and was pretty sure she hung the moon. Ollie would likely do okay in a home with kids but given his size we would not recommend him for a home with children under 6 y.o.

Ollie is a play group superstar who is pretty sure all other dogs love him. We do not have the heart to tell him otherwise but he has learned to respect the boundaries of the less playful dogs. Ollie can be vocal meeting new dogs on leash but quickly settles down after being introduced and is slowly learning that yelling doesn't make friends. Ollie has not been around cats or small dogs at this time.
