Meet Okie Dokie
NOTE: All adoptions are only in the greater Houston, TX area.

MEET OKIE DOKIE! Okie Dokie was purchased as a puppy and grew into this amazing big boy! His mom and dad had a baby, and Okie Dokie was too big for the baby and with a dane's clumsy he kept knocking the baby over. As dane owners we totally understand that but the parents didn't understand so they dropped Okie Dokie off at a local high kill shelter. The shelter called GDRST and we picked up Okie Dokie the next day. Okie Dokie is about 16 months old and is a super sweet clumsy teenager dane. He is white, is NOT DEAF OR VISION IMPAIRED. He would benefit from some basic obedience. Just your typical teenage great dane = bouncy, clumsy, zoomies, and treat driven.
ADOPTION CONTRIBUTION FEE: $450.00
In many cases, the cost of vetting services is greater than the adoption contribution. The adoption contributions help defray the costs of vetting services, but rarely, if ever, cover all expenses. Additional donations are welcomed and appreciated. Please consider making a donation to help offset medical expenses.

GDRST will have the following services completed as part of the adoption process. Each animal will be spayed or neutered, fully vaccinated, heartworm tested, heartworm treated if applicable, fecal tested, de-wormed, microchipped and monthly heartworm preventative
Please note GDRST is an all-volunteer, run by individuals with full time careers. In order to meet with a Dane that you are interested in, please complete our online application. After receiving your application, a volunteer will verify with your vet the care on your current or previous animals and then contact you to set up a home eval and to discuss which Dane may be a match for you.
