Meet Odie
MEET ODIE! Odie is called Lucky by his foster mom because he has had someone who saw the potential in him and has stepped up to help him.
Odie is a 3 year old Chihuahua mix and weighs 9 lbs. He is a special needs dog for now. He has a neurological issue that was most probably from him surviving distemper. He is very smart and works hard to re-learn how to walk and he cannot wait to learn steps. Odie is being fostered in Salem, Or at this time.
There is a short video of Odie's walk. He is getting stronger and more steady but it takes time.
Please read about Odie (below) and if you feel you are a good match for him and want to meet him, please complete an application found on our website at the following link https://www.mywayhomedogrescue.org/adopt/apply-to-adopt/
Odie is a sweet/affectionate boy. He is house trained and sleeps in a dog bed next to his foster mom at night. He is generally quiet unless his foster sister barks and then he barks too (just for a short time)! He loves laps and will happily be carried if needed. He has improved over the last months and is stronger but he has a ways to go.
Odie’s home is a home without many steps (he has to be carried on steps). He would LOVE another dog to be with. He will do best without young children as he cannot get out of their way quickly. He needs a patient person who will keep him walking (inside or out).
Odie is:
• he is crate trained and house trained
• he does well on leash
• he needs a home with a calm dog
• he comes when called
• he easily learns new routines
• he is generally quiet
• he is not destructive (with his toys, beds, crates)
• a very good boy!
Odie is up to date on his vaccines had flea treatment, had de-wormer, had his heartworm test and he is microchipped and neutered.
