Octavius Pit Bull Terrier Huntington, WV

1 year, approximately 35lbs

Octavius has the potential to be a really good boy, in the right environment. The down low....he has pretty serious separation anxiety and cannot be crated. He will absolutely destroy, escape and harm himself in the process. He has scars on his ears and face to prove it! He is not fully house trained, we believe that anxiety and the kennel environment play a huge role in this. His back legs are wonky for lack of a better term, either a genetic deformity or caused by starvation/malnutrition. Slows him down a little, but does not seem to cause him pain. We started him on cosequin and it seems to help with the stiffness at least. He has a sensitive stomach. We have struggled to find what works for him, but the current diet and supplements he is on has worked for awhile now ?. Stress can cause stomach upset, so again, anxiety and environment could certainly be part of the problem.

Octavius needs to be in a home with someone who is retired, works from home, or is stay at home. He has presented a lot of challenges, but he deserves the best of everything in life. He deserves someone who will love him for the rest of his years. He has probably never known what it is like to live in a real home, with a family. It was apparent he was horribly neglected and probably never knew kindness until he was found.

This boy is extremely sweet and affectionate, he desperately wants to be your shadow. He is super playful and loves other dogs his size, larger and young pups, we have no idea how he is with small breed dogs and really needs someone his size to play with. He would be fine with considerate children, but no cats!
If you feel you can provide the environment he needs, please message me. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY! Bouncing him around more than necessary will only make his anxiety worse! He needs stability, someone who will commit to him!

This is not a "free dog", he requires a high quality diet, supplements, he could develop allergies (blue dog problems), so veterinary care could be costly, he is also going to take some work,. so only inquire if you are financially prepared and willing to put in the time and effort.
