Nova - adopted! Australian Cattle Dog / Blue Heeler & Border Collie Mix Minneapolis, MN

Nova is a head turner with striking good looks in an adorable, petite package. She’s a thoughtful and sensitive soul who wears her heart on her sleeve, ready to give and receive affection from any person she meets. Slightly shy at first, but once she realizes you want to pet her, she’s in your lap soaking up the adoration. Born in November 2023, 29# and basically full grown. We believe she is a Cattle Dog/Border Collie mix.

Smart and industrious, Nova likes to keep her mind and body occupied. She wants a lifetime of engagement with her people – going places and doing things together. She wants to see the world! Very bright, eager to learn. Daily walks are a must. Mental challenges like obedience classes, puzzle toys or trick training will balance her day... she might like to try agility or another dog sport.

Best in a home that has experience with smart, active dogs. An excellent candidate for a one-dog home. Could live with another dog that will respect her space; she is wary of dogs approaching without consent, especially if she has a toy or another prized possession. Continued socialization and education are an absolute requirement to ensure she matures into a dog that can share space with other dogs appropriately. (No issue with people approaching.) Suited for a home with older kids, but not for a family with young children or planning to have children in the future.

Nova enjoys heading out for a stroll, looking to her human for reassurance when encountering unexpected noises. A strong bond and positive reinforcement will build her confidence in situations like this. Housetrained on a schedule. Relaxes in her crate with a Kong or chew toy. Dedicated to keeping the yard clear of squirrels. Ready to play anytime.

Nova is being fostered in Brooklyn Park, MN.

As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Her adoption fee is $450 + MN sales tax. She is spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. All of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
