Nova Mixed Breed Greenwood, IN

Hi, my name is Nova. My foster mom calls me Nova girl and that really gets my tail wagging! I'm approximately 3 years old but I act more like I'm a 75lb puppy. I have so much energy and I love exploring EVERYTHING! My foster mom works with me every day on my manners so that I will make the best family member possible. I currently know how to sit, shake, and lay down from jumping up or standing on my hind legs. I'm learning when I'm called but that's a work in progress. My foster mom has a lot of confidence that I'll master that command as well because I'm super smart. I’ve been a fast learner thanks to the yummy treats I get while training! I'm also learning to walk on a leash. I do well until I see someone I'd like to meet or a squirrel. Those things really catch my attention! If I start pulling my foster mom, she holds me close to her and says no pull a few times until I remember what I've learned so far! But she is confident that I'll get the hang of the leash and be able to enjoy a good walk fully. I love to jump up and greet new friends, but my foster mom tells people to hold their hand to me, insinuating stop and say stay down in a firm voice which most generally works, but sometimes I may have a burst of excitement that I can't contain! I do redirect easily. I may have to be reminded a few times to redirect, but I will find something else to focus on. My best friend and partner in crime is my foster sister Kiah she is an 8-month-old Jack Russell pit mix and man, do we have fun! I also love kids! Oh my gosh, they have as much energy as I do! Upon being fostered I learned I loved toys and I love to play with my friends with toys! Stuffies and balls are my favorite so far. Water is so fun if I see it. I want to play in it. I love bath time, and my foster mom says I do excellent when being pampered with a bath and getting my nails done! I love to be with people. I have to go in my crate when left alone because I love exploring, and I may find something interesting to chew or maybe a smell from the trash can my catch my curiosity! So until I thoroughly learn to live in a house and the rules, my mom says the crate will keep me out of trouble! I may protest the crate for a few minutes, but then I'm ok. I do sleep in my crate at night, but the door is left open. I do good with just sleeping at night because I'm so busy throughout the day! Some other things I enjoy are belly rubs, butt scratches, treats, treats, and more treats. I never knew what goodies were until my foster mom introduced them to me, and oh boy those are soooo good! My foster mom says I'm the best, most loving girl who deserves a fantastic family!
