Meet Nola (DR4827)

DOB: 07/16/2012

Oh sweet Nola. Nola is a big special girl that is our current longest resident as she has been here since July of 2019. She was pulled from an animal control facility when she was dumped by her owner after spending a life producing babies. Nola has adopted the attitude that it's her world, and we're just living in it - and she's not wrong. She has her own spot outside that is filled with blankets for her to spend the day sunbathing as that is her favorite activity. If she isn't outside and wants to be she will yell to let us know as she is the Queen B and we're just her loyal subjects. In all, Nola does have a very easy going (but stubborn) attitude and isn't bothered by much. When meeting her you'll get one of two interactions: she's going to tackle you for a hug and want allllll the pets, or she'll just straight up ignore you. If she greets you with a hug, we know you're good people. Nola isn't bothered by the other dogs here at the shelter, as long as they don't bother her. Translating to living in a home, we don't think she would do well with any other animals in her space so a home where she is the only four legged companion would be best. She also is easily scared of small children, so she needs a home that is mature or has teenagers and up. There is a rule we won't budge on as she hasn't been to kind to children that spooked her while sleeping. And Nola does sleep a lot. If you're looking for a house hippo to lounge around with you, Nola is your girl. Please call us at (704) 784-7387 option 0 to schedule an appointment to meet her.
