Meet Noah - local boy

Meet Noah - a 1 year old, Miniature Pinscher, who weighs 15 pounds (as of 9/24/24). Noah came to us earlier this year while his previous owner was in the hospital for cancer treatment. After his owner returned home from treatment, she unfortunately lost her home and had to be hospitalized for rehab and he was surrendered to us formally this summer.

His new northern foster mom shares "Oh Mr. Noah! He’s doing great- definitely a bit of a velcro dog and seriously so adorable. Noah is the sweetest little guy who just wants to love and be loved. He has lots of energy, and would love to come with you on long walks or hikes, then curl up next to you on the couch for snuggles when you get home. He loves to play fetch and loves other dogs- especially little ones. He is doing well in his crate, and we are working on his potty training and leash skills. We don't think he was ever trained in his former house but he is learning quickly. He responds quickly to verbal cues and is highly food motivated, so training him shouldn’t be too difficult! We joke that he has springs for legs- which he uses to let you know he wants to be in your arms! His most favorite thing is to burrow under your warm covers, but he’s also happy to sleep in his crate too. He does seem to have a bit of a prey drive with the squirrels and the birds around Boston, so he should go to a home without other small animals. This little guy has tons of love to give and is going to be a wonderful companion!”

Noah can be a little mouthy so a home with young children probably isn't the best for him. He isn't mean in any way - just is learning what his best manners look like. He warms up to women a little quicker than men (probably because he lived in a female household) but is definitely doing well with males here too as long as they are patient. This boy is wonderful!

All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.

Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted. To learn more about our *shelterless* rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of Frequently Asked Questions on our website at WWW.GDRNE.COM.
