Meet Nina
Hi, my name is Nina! I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into a home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:
-Personality: Active, friendly, playful, easy-going
-Can Live with Kids: Yes, dog-savvy kids of any age (up to counselor's discretion)
-Can Live with Cats: Unknown history - will need proper introductions to ensure everyone gets along
-Can Live with Dogs: No, I can be reactive to other dogs and will need to be the only dog in the home
-Can do Apartment Living: Potentially yes, with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation
-Potty Trained: Yes
-Bite History: No
-Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: No
-Energy Level: Medium
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: No
-Additional Information: Nina is a sweet girl who was originally adopted from us but recently returned to the shelter. Based on what her previous adopters said, she is a loving and easy-going girl who does well with kids and adults. She can be reactive towards other dogs and is selective in which dogs she likes and does not like. For this reason, we are requiring she be the only dog in the home. Nina would benefit from working with a trainer on her dog reactivity. During her time in shelter she has been improving with her dog reactivity and she has some dog bffs that she plays well with in our playyard :)
If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
