Niles American Staffordshire Terrier & Pit Bull Terrier Mix Staunton, VA

Niles is such a sweet cuddle bug! He may only have 3 legs, but it doesn't slow him down! He is fantastic with all people! He loves kids, babies, seniors, you name it! He sleeps in the foster's 5 year old child's bed most nights. Sometimes he doesn't realize his size, so you have to watch him around really small children. He will try to get in anyone's lap! Niles LOVES going on car rides! You do have to help him in and out since he only has 3 legs. Niles has a past of being dog aggressive without any warning at all. So, we recommend he goes to a home without out dogs. We also do not think he would be very good with cats. Due to being a tripod Pittie, carpet is better for him and a home without too many stairs. He can go up and down the stairs with encouragement, but it is harder for him. Niles loves to go on short daily walks. Usually a mile is all he can do. He then will just lay down and refuse to get up! He is a velcro dog once a bond has been built and will follow you everywhere. Niles does have pretty serious separation anxiety when left alone until he adjusts. A home where someone is home often would be best for him. He is crate trained and goes in there when nobody is home in his foster's house. 5-6 hours is the max he can be left alone before you have to worry about him relieving himself in his crate. He is house trained and does great in the house! But, in the crate, he will use the bathroom sometimes. This sweet guy loves belly rubs, peanut butter, and cuddles! If you meet him, you will fall in love with him due to his goofy, sweet personality. Approximately 5 years old.
