Nikki Shepherd & Beagle Mix Closter, NJ

Nikki may be a bit of a mystery when it comes to her breed, but there’s no doubt she’s absolutely adorable. This sweet 4-year-old girl weighs about 30 pounds and is fully vetted, ready for her forever home. Found as a stray and rescued from a Texas shelter, Nikki has proven to be a resilient and loving dog. She’s a little shy at first, but with patience, she warms up and shows her affectionate side. Nikki is good with other dogs but doesn't really need them to thrive. She's happiest being someone's companion and settling into their heart and home. Whether she’s out for a walk, doing zoomies, or happily rolling in the grass, Nikki’s playful spirit will bring joy to any home. If you’re looking for a loyal and sweet companion, Nikki is ready to meet you! Although Nikki likes kids, she doesnt love to have her collar held or grabbed at and she would rather her human not try to take food from her. We are diligently training her to "drop it" and she's come a long way! She knows commands like sit, stay, drop it and come. We'd prefer she be in an all adult home as she continues to learn.

ADOPTION PROCESS:

1. You must begin our adoption process by applying to adopt on clawsadopt.org. Please do NOT inquire via Petfinder, social media messengers or in our comments. We will only be looking at applications!

2. Please make sure you fill out our adoption application COMPLETELY. We may not be able to respond to applications that are not completely filled out with the proper information. Side note: on our applications, the more details you provide = the better.

3. We prefer applicants live within 60 miles of Closter, NJ. (Applicants who live farther away may still apply. However, please note we do prioritize local applications as we try our best to serve our local community first.)

4. Please respect our organization, our volunteers and our process. As a reminder, our organization is a nonprofit. We receive no money from the state. We have no paid employees! This is a polite reminder that we are doing our best to make the right decisions for the animals in our care. Thank you.
