NIGEL NEEDS A HERO!

NIGEL has been waiting for his family for way too long. He greats everyone with the biggest smile. He is one of the happiest dogs you’ll meet. Please share and let’s get Nigel a home of his very own!!

He is a very smart, curious guy. He absolutely loves to go outside. He loves the play yard! He loves climbing and running down the steps of our wooden playset. He really enjoys when his dog friends join in on the fun.

His favorite volunteer says "He is so fun and perfect. He absolutely loves his walks, he’s adventurous loves to explore. There’s never a shortage of laughs when we walk. He’s also a huge softy. When I take him in the yard all he wants to do is sit on the bench and cuddle up to me and give kisses over and over. "

Nigel is very attentive and learns quickly. He already knows how to sit and always loves to show this off. He also does well on a leash when he goes for walks. He will occasionally get excited and get the zoomies on his leash, but quickly calms down. Nigel is eager to meet his new family so he can start having all the fun adventures with you!

Nigel is a handsome brindle Pit Bull mix! He is 3 years old and he weighs 64 lbs. His adoption fee is sponsored for the very best home for him!

Unfortunately, NIGEL tested positive for heartworms. But please don’t let this scare you away! We just need to get him into a home during his treatment. The cost for the heartworm treatment is completely covered. We can provide you with more info about his heartworm treatment if you are interested in adopting or fostering him (we’d love to find him a foster home!). Once his treatment plan is completed, Nigel will be able to live a normal healthy life with no restrictions!

ADOPTING A PET
We are open for meet and greet adoptions at our shelter on weekends. No appointment is necessary for weekend adoptions. Our weekend hours vary and we also have satellite adoption events every weekend. We are also open Monday through Friday by appointment. Please contact us by phone at 913-321-1445 or by email at petadoptions@kckpd.org to schedule your appointment during weekdays.

If you have a dog or children we ask that you bring them with you to meet our dogs to make sure it is a good match.

Our dogs have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and tested for heartworms (if 7 months or older).
