Meet Nico, a sweet and cuddly middle aged gentleman looking for his people. Nico arrived to his foster home and quickly made himself comfortable. He is staying with 2 younger dogs of a similar size and doesn't mind them one bit. So far this handsome fella is quiet and playful, enjoying throwing his stuffy in the air to catch it and give it a good shake lol. During the last week or so he's started to show interest in playing with the other dogs in the house but still seems to prefer to play alone or with his human. He has not been toy aggressive at all. We feed our foster dogs seperately from our residents for everyones safety but Nico hasn't shown any food aggression when someone is near his food. He also sits and takes treats nicely next to other dogs. He is very food motivated, loves to eat and is not picky! He's great at the groomer for a nail clip and doesn't mind a nice warm bath. With his short soft hair grooming will be minimal but a brushing now and then will be useful to keep his hair shiny and soft. He had a teeth cleaning and some extractions and with regular care should be set for quite a while. He would be fine with teeth brushing and is not opposed to having his teeth or feet touched.

After eating, playing and a trip outside Nico looks for a soft spot (preferably a lap but a fluffy blanket or bed will also do) to take a nap and recharge. He has been sleeping through the night on the family bed and doesn't even snore! He does however want to be touching his people and is a nice bed warmer.

Nico enjoys walks, has great leash manners and is a good walking partner with the other dogs in the house. Nico lived in one home until recently when his owner passed away and he and 2 other small dogs were surrendered to rescue. After a short adjustment period to learn house routine he has been housetrained. He would likley do fine left out when alone but we use a crate for our fosters for everyones safety. He goes in easily with a cookie to munch on as incentive but he does not like it at all. He very much loves his people and loves car rides so would prefer to be your co-pilot and go with you on errands and adventures. He is not distructive and hasn't chewed anything he shouldn't.

Nico is a fabulous dog who loves his people but given his size would do best in a home without young children/toddlers. Older kids who respect his size would be fine, especially if they have a nice warm lap to share. He's a bit shy around strangers but with proper introductions and socialization I think he will thrive he loves attention!
