Meet Nerina

Nerina is a sweet sea monster, wanting to gobble up your heart.

With a guesstimated birthday in April 2021, Nerina weighs about 50 lb and is fully grown.

Nerina likes other dogs but is suspicious of strangers. She is house-trained when kept on a regular schedule. She's leash-savvy and comfy in a 42" crate to give her room to sprawl. Due to the way she lays, she rubs some spots on her tail. They aren't bare, but the hair looks different.

Nerina is very athletic. She loves to run in the yard with her doggy friends and play in water. She can jump on the counter, when motivated, so her foster mom keeps a can of SSCAT - a motion-detecting air sprayer - turned on when Nerina's loose in the kitchen. Her foster buddies egg her on so she'll get in trouble!

Nerina is tolerant of the cats in her foster home. She will chase horses and cars so should be kept on a leash when away from home.

**************************************************
Whether dogs / puppies come in as strays or owner surrenders, we make our best guess as to birthdate and breed.

If adopted into a home with other animals, particularly cats, your new pet should be crated or secured when you're not available to supervise to insure a harmonious relationship.

For adult dogs, our adoption fee covers a standard canine vaccine, a rabies vaccine, heartworm (HW) test, HW prevention, and deworming if recommended by our vet.

Puppies will have two vaccinations, deworming, and heartworm prevention if age-appropriate. An additional fee for the 3rd puppy vaccination and rabies vaccination, if administered, will be added to the adoption fee.

If you are adopting an intact dog, a refundable spay/neuter deposit is required, and a vet reference may be required.

Foster dogs are shown on a rotating schedule at our Saturday Adoption Events which occur several times a month at Waggin Tail Resale store located at 220 Joyceton Church Rd, Lenoir. Additionally, Meet & Greets can be scheduled with a specific dog on Saturdays (11am-3pm) in our Adoption Center at Waggin' Tail Resale. Additional times for Meet & Greets may be scheduled depending on the schedules of Adoption Counselors and Foster Parents.

Shelter Dogs can be seen at the Bunch Anderson Shelter on Saturdays from 12pm-3:30pm, or by appointment. To request an appointment, e-mail: info@foothillscaninerescue.org. We will respond within 24-48 hours M-F. (BAS is also located at 220 Joyceton Church Rd)
