Nemo Mixed Breed Salamanca, NY

Nemo was found on the streets of Jamestown, 6 months old and 15 pounds. He was found in survival mode, cold, wet, emaciated, starving, dehydrated, having urine scald, covered in feces and abscesses throughout his body.

Despite the fact that Nemo has clearly lived in hell for most of his short life, he wants nothing but to be loved & snuggled. He wants to be with us 24/7. He feels safest when he’s with us & can finally breath a breath of fresh air.

He has been in rescue for a few weeks now. Nemo is now not quite a year old. He is the most snuggliest puppy. He will literally snuggle you all day long. He loves to play with his toys and most other dogs. He does fine with cats.

Nemo is going to have a sensitive GI system for the long run. He is going to need to be kept on the same food and continue to do small, multiple meals through out the day. Any type of food has to be out of reach. He will over indulge with any type of food and this could cause serious problems such as bloat.

Neemy is learning to be crated. He’s come a long ways. I personally think he was left in a crate. He doesn’t always have the concept I feel like to hold it. But he’s doing way better than I could ever imagined. We obviously crate when we leave & ever since we have put him near the other crated dogs in our household, he doesn’t scream nearly as much. He has slept with us since day one. He was just a bag of bones when we got him & he wanted snuggles.He doesn’t get up in the middle of the night until we wake up. Even then he rather stay in bed

I would love to find Nemo a family that is home more than not & I think he would benefit from having another canine friend that would let him snuggle up with them. As of right now, he’s not meant to be left in a crate for long days at work. Right now the longest I have him in a crate is 5 hours.
