Hi, my name is Nelson!

Nicknames: Baby Boy, Stubs, Bubba

Age: Around 3-4 months old

Activity level: High, rowdy, playful

Things I do in my free time: I love playing with my foster sister. It seems like I haven’t been around many dogs in the past. Sometimes I get too rough and she has to remind me to settle down. I’m still getting the hang of something called “structure” and I’ll need a family that is willing to show me the ropes. I also saw snow for the first time, I like it! It buried most of my favorite toys which are sticks. Now I have to run around trying to find them all! Luckily the big ones are still poking up from under all this white stuff.

Things I know: I know how to sit and how to settle in my kennel. I am very quiet overnight and I’m doing really well with my potty training. I do need consistency and frequent trips outside to remember the best place to go potty is outside. I also know that humans are the best ever. I love my foster family and spend as much time as I can right next to them.

Things I am learning: I am still learning that my life is different here and that there will always be food and toys and love. When I arrived in rescue, I was pretty skinny and I was always worried that there wouldn’t be enough food. Now that I found a place with food and toys, I feel like I have to make sure nobody takes them away. I will need help learning to share around other dogs as well as not getting too excited or overeager during mealtimes.

Kids: Unsure. I am very rowdy and likely would knock over small children.

Dogs: I love my foster sister but will need a doggy sibling that is willing to put up with my puppy antics.

Cats: I haven’t met any.

Cars: I have done well riding in a car in a crate.

More from my Foster: Nelson is a great pup. He has a very sweet personality and clearly loves being around people. He is eager to please, but excitable and forgetful. He will need a family that can give him confidence as he grows.
