NARI IS SEEKING HER BEST LIFE

This is our current foster Nari. She has spent the last few months with us learning to be a dog instead of a baby maker.
She is very fearful of people.
She came into rescue needing a spay and a wonky tooth pulled when it was discovered that her jaw was broken and she needed 2 hernias repaired as well. She had an extensive surgery and recovered well. Physically she is doing well. She is just very wary of people.
She will jump on the bed or couch and allow being loved on but she has to come to you. When we do need to pick her up, she will "pancake" on the floor to be picked up. She allows nail trimming and ear cleanings and we do some sessions of holding her close on our lap until she relaxes. My husband does most of the "swaddling" and she seems to enjoy it.
She loves having a dog friend to snuggle with and play with. She gets along well with all of our dogs and ignores the cat. Another friendly dog a plus
She is fearful of children and will bark at them while running away. She's not ever shown signs of aggression, but you can tell she is fearful. Even bigger kids get the same reaction.
She is crate trained, always keeping it clean, and uses the dog door to potty. Her crate is her safe place, so we always keep it open.
Nari is looking for a special home where she feels safe and loved and they know it will be a slow process. It's worth it. She may never be a "normal" temperament dog, but only time will tell. Sometimes these babies surprise us. After so many humans have let them down, they can still learn to love and trust. She is under 18 lbs and around 4-5 years old.
